TD Bank Launches 2009-2010 American Dream Scholarship Program


TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank, currently is accepting applications for its American Dream Scholarship Program, which awards a total of $225,000 annually to graduating high school seniors in the Bank’s footprint from Metro New York to Florida.

TD Bank is dedicated to expanding educational opportunities and encouraging individual growth of students in the communities the Bank serves. American Dream Scholarships recognize the accomplishments of students who have demonstrated academic achievement and a commitment to community service.

Candidates may apply online by filling out an e-application at tdbank.com/americandream until December 15, 2008 for 2009-2010 academic year scholarships.

Applications will be evaluated based on accomplishments both inside and outside the classroom. The 225 winners will be chosen based on academic achievement, goals and aspirations, demonstrated leadership, participation in community service activities, work experience, and personal recommendations.

Applicants must: • be graduating high school seniors, residing in a county served by TD Bank • plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school in the United States • have a cumulative high school grade point average of at least 3.0 (based on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent • demonstrate involvement in community service, volunteerism, school activities and/or employment responsibilities.

TD Bank again has partnered with Scholarship America, a national nonprofit and the nation’s largest nonprofit, private sector scholarship and educational support organization.
